The captured owner guide names air-sourced model 251E280 and later distinguishes product variants by anode suffix. Photograph the full rating label, serial and installation details before interpreting an F value. Everhot registry records include earlier 180, 280 and 310 litre patterns, but this publication does not name them. A matching nominal capacity is insufficient because panel logic and refrigerant generation can change. The 251E280 display shows operating status, average water temperature, usable hot-water quantity, time, timer settings and faults. When a failure occurs, the code alternates with the current time in the Timer or Clock area and a one-off six-second alarm sounds. Multiple active values alternate in the same region, so a short video can preserve the complete sequence more reliably than a single photograph. Normal owner controls do not expose internal diagnostics; the guide directs service-required indications to Rheem’s network.

Heating availability changes by F-code group

PDF page 21 groups thirteen values by practical effect. F01 through F08 stop the heat pump while electric heating remains available. F10 and F11 stop electric heating while the heat pump can continue. F09 and F13 stop both, and F12 is an over-temperature condition that can clear as stored water cools or is drawn off. The manual does not publish a separate failed component for every value, so the catalogue preserves these grouped meanings. Fd remains excluded because it labels ordinary freeze protection, not a fault.

Older Everhot products are not controller aliases

The dataset includes 241E280, 251-series, 263-series and 265-series Everhot records. The current 251E280 manual offers no statement that those products share its Timer or Clock code groups, even where digits or tank volumes overlap. Rheem ownership also does not make a Rheem-branded controller table interchangeable with Everhot. Each brand and model keeps its own evidence scope until a publication explicitly connects them. The warranty section names Rheem Australia Pty Limited as manufacturer and gives the national service number 13 10 31. For 251E280 it records one year for all components, three years for sealed-system parts and labour in a single-family dwelling, and cylinder supply through year five with shorter labour coverage. Keep purchase, installation and serial evidence ready and ask Rheem to assess the actual failure. Code presence can help triage a call, but the warranty terms, installation and diagnosis determine coverage.
