Safety and source limits

Confirm the exact brand, model, interface, and displayed code. Similar-looking codes can mean different things on another model. Meanings are paraphrased from cited sources, and a licensed technician must confirm the actual cause.

Never remove covers or panels, work on wiring, handle refrigerant, or modify plumbing. Stop using a unit showing smoke, burning smell, sparks, leaking water near electrical parts, exposed wiring, or repeated breaker trips, and seek appropriately licensed or emergency help.

Minimal personal information

We ask only for the fields and optional equipment photos shown in a form. The dedicated contribution form is the exception: it requires at least one equipment photo. Photos are stripped of EXIF/location metadata and kept private unless a separately consented, high-confidence automated privacy review approves publication. Uncertain and rejected photos remain private. A contribution credit is public only with separate permission. We put no PII in URLs, logs, or analytics. Form records stay in D1 and the founder inbox, image objects stay in private R2, and we delete them on an email request to the contact above.
